    5th anniversary

    Revenue reaches £3 million.

    The managed hire model is proving itself at scale — on-rents reach 500 across the network.

  3. 2006
    Platform launch

    Iris® v1 launched — the intelligence layer.

    The first version of the managed hire platform consolidates booking, compliance and invoicing for customers managing hire across multiple suppliers.

  4. 2010
    10th anniversary

    Revenue reaches £20 million.

    On-rents reach 5,000. The model that started with a handful of rental partners is now operating at meaningful national scale.

    Team milestone

    Team reaches 34 people.

  6. 2015
    15th anniversary

    Revenue reaches £42.5 million.

    On-rents reach 7,000. Total bookings cross one million cumulative.

    HGV & Hire Desk launch

    HGV and the Live Hire Desk go live.

    The HGV managed hire proposition goes live, backed by a UK-based Hire Desk of industry experts. Within months, our first major HGV customer of scale is onboarded. Proof the model translates beyond cars and vans.

    Revenue reaches £97.7 million.

    Plant hire

    Plant hire launched

    Plant hire is added to the managed proposition – telehandlers, access platforms and groundworks equipment, coordinated through Iris® and backed by a growing network of accredited Plant supply partners.

    Revenue reaches £252 million. On-rents reach 28,293 across the network.

We work with our accredited network of 125+ suppliers across 650+ branches, and we can onboard supply partners you already have relationships with. The platform doesn't restrict your choice; it simply consolidates how you manage that choice.

Iris® provides end-to-end compliance management across your entire hired fleet. For Plant and Equipment this covers LOLER certifications, PDI documentation, and PMI tracking. For HGVs this extends to MOTs, laden brake testing, tachograph calibrations, and DVS requirements. All compliance records are pre-validated by our team before being digitised and made available on demand through Iris®. Proactive expiry alerts at 7 and 3 days ensure nothing is missed. Every record is audit-ready, downloadable, and held against the hire record.
Five categories: Site & Ground Works (heavy plant machinery & groundbreaking equipment), Material Handling (forklifts, telehandlers), Access Equipment (MEWPs, scaffolding, powered access), Site Setup & Welfare (cabins, infrastructure, power), and HGV & Specialist Fleets (rigids, articulated, specialist HGV, light commercials). All managed through one platform.
Damage claims and fines are managed end to end by Nexus on your behalf. For damage, we handle the process from first notification through to resolution, validating every claim against delivery and collection inspection records and challenging overcharging where it is identified. For fines and penalty notices, every fixed penalty is attributed against the driver, operator, vehicle, and hire booking, with supporting documentation captured and stored digitally in Iris®.
