The UK arm of global electrical distributor, Rexel, brought Nexus in to deliver all of its mobility requirements on an exclusive basis in the summer of 2017.
Rexel UK is a leading supplier of electrical products and solutions operating through a national network of over 250 branches. Serving electrical contractors and the industrial, commercial and residential sectors, Rexel also provides specialist services that help businesses work smarter, more cost-effectively and sustainably.
Rexel uses Nexus for short-term rentals to cover maintenance of its core fleet, medium term to cope with fluctuations in work volume, and long-term for pre-lease rentals to support new employees joining the business.
Nexus provides technology to support Rexel’s fleet needs, enabling its 3,000 employees to self-serve within Nexus’ IRIS rental booking system. The smart technology automatically identifies the most cost effective rental solutions, advising Rexel how it can reduce its rental spend.
Rexel Fleet Manager, David Fisher, said: “Rental has always played a significant part in our fleet make-up. Due to the growth of our business, we were increasingly finding that our previous supplier couldn’t always fulfil our requests. As a result, either the right type of vehicle was not available or not available in the right location.
“Nexus has removed these problems and its sophisticated IT platform enables full visibility of the rental journey. This slashes our administrative burden. Due to this, we now have a much more robust process for rental management and approval in place.”
