The Direct Vision Standard (DVS) scheme will operate in Greater London and come into force from 1st March 2021. This requires Goods Vehicles over 12t to hold a permit (some exemptions), this is enforced by TFL. The Scheme runs on a ‘Star Rating’ (0-5) and is based on how the vehicle left the production line and is assigned by the manufacturer. It does not take into account any aftermarket equipment fitted, but this can be used in order to be granted a permit if your star rating is too low.
