Nexus Vehicle Rental, the UK’s leading tech-driven business mobility provider, has reached a new milestone with delivering more than 1,500 bookings through its passenger taxi service, Nexus Go.
The alternative mobility solution was launched in December 2021, and was created to provide another option for transporting people on shorter or one-way journeys that have become difficult to fulfil in the market due to supply challenges.
Nexus Go gives customers access to an online taxi booking portal where they can book a trip, planned or on-demand. The service also provides journey progress and location updates, access to more than 3,500 taxi companies throughout the UK, and a GPS tracking facility via Google Maps.
This milestone comes at the end of another successful year for Nexus. In addition to launching into the taxi market, Nexus has also launched its new plant hire and site solutions category and continued its product innovation with Nexus Connect, a mobile application developed specifically for drivers to streamline all aspects of the rental process whilst on the move.
Yvonne Palmer, Operations Director at Nexus Vehicle Rental, commented: “Over the last two years we have seen a huge shift in the market with suppliers moving away from supporting shorter term hires such as one-day, one-way bookings. When we launched Nexus Go we were looking to offer an alternative means of enabling our customers to get to where they needed to be despite the supply challenges.
“Reaching this milestone demonstrates how Nexus Go has provided an effective solution that has enabled the business to meet the needs of our customers. Our industry leading technology, IRIS, has enabled Nexus to remain at the forefront of the market and is one of the fundamental reasons we are able to continue to deliver excellent services to our customers.”
Using Nexus’ rental booking and management software, IRIS, Nexus Go users are also able to consolidate billing to incorporate journey fees and ancillary charges in full. Users will get access to the customer management reporting suite in both on and offline accessible formats, providing them with greater visibility of all costs and charges on a single source platform.
Over the last 20 years, Nexus has effectively carved out a niche for itself in the market by utilising technology to meet changing industry trends and customer demands. It has transformed the vehicle rental industry and continues to provide on-demand access to the UK’s largest rental supply chain through its award-winning software, IRIS.
