Responsible Business Procurement-grade evidence

Responsibility you can audit.

Built for the procurement director, the ESG lead and the supplier-governance team running the audit. Scope-3 disclosure, supplier PQQ evidence, CDP reporting — this page is the working tool, not the manifesto. Cite what you find here in your own submissions.

02 · Why this page exists

A working tool for your reporting, not ours.

Procurement, ESG and supplier-governance teams arrive here with a specific job to do: find defensible evidence to cite in their own submissions. The page is structured to make that quick. What we evidence, what cadence, what's auditable, what's pending. Substantiation over sentiment.

i · Scope-3 disclosure

Emissions data per asset, per hire.

Iris® holds asset-type, fuel-category, supplier, hire-duration and site data across the estate. Available as report-grade extracts for category-3 disclosure (upstream goods & services) and category-4 (upstream transportation).

  • GHG Protocol — Scope 3
  • CDP — Climate
  • SBTi — supplier engagement
ii · Supplier PQQ evidence

Cite our audit, not your faith.

When a Tier 1 PQQ asks how you govern downstream rental suppliers, the published audit checklist in Section 04 is what you cite. Every supplier in the Nexus network completes the same documentation, on the same cadence, with the same evidence accepted.

  • NHSS / BS 65000 / ISO 14001
  • Modern Slavery Act 2015 s54
  • Procurement Act 2023 supplier ID
iii · ESG board reporting

Numbers that survive review.

What you can take to the board: fleet mix over time, supplier breakdown by accreditation tier, electric & HVO adoption curve, audit findings closed vs open. Quarterly cadence as standard, monthly if you ask, ad-hoc against a specific submission.

  • Streamlined Energy & Carbon Reporting (SECR)
  • Sustainable Procurement (ISO 20400)
  • Supplier governance & risk evidence

03 · The Four Pillars

Four pillars. Not a separate agenda.

Four labels. Four pieces of evidence. What we measure, what we publish, what an auditor can check.

Responsibility runs through everything we do. At Nexus, responsible business is not a separate agenda. Powered by technology and delivered by our people, we collaborate closely with customers and suppliers to reduce environmental impact, support green targets, and boost employee engagement.
i · People

Empowering people.

Industry experts on the desk, not call-centre order-takers. Apprenticeships in supplier development, local employment favoured in sourcing decisions.

  • Long-tenure team on the Live Hire Desk
  • Apprenticeship investment as a supplier-selection filter
  • Continuous training and industry-experience hiring
ii · Technology

Tech-led change.

Iris® holds emissions data per asset, fuel category, supplier, hire duration and site. Green preferences pre-configured at the point of order — intervention before the diesel arrives, not after.

  • Emissions data accessible per hire record
  • Pre-configured green preferences at order
  • Equipment specs + fuel + impact in one report
iii · Impact

Driving impact.

Electric plant, solar welfare, HVO trucks, zero-emission MEWPs — available across the network where the customer specifies them. Suppliers encouraged to invest in Stage V engines, hybrid and electric.

  • Electric and zero-emission ranges across four asset families
  • Stage V engines a supplier-development KPI
  • Carbon-reduction data held against every record
iv · Partnerships

Inspiring partnerships.

Dedicated Supply Chain team works with suppliers to improve policies and processes. Network breadth is the proposition — we govern it, not gate it.

  • 125+ suppliers on a shared audit standard
  • Supplier-development programme, not blacklist culture
  • Community contribution + local employment as tiebreakers
04 · Supplier audit framework

The checklist.
Published in full.

Six categories. Every supplier completes every category. Each item shows what we ask for, what evidence we accept, and the audit cadence. Most networks publish the bullet points. This one publishes the framework.

Our commitment

Every supplier in the network completes quality, health, safety and environmental documentation and provides evidence that they have practices and policies in place to manage quality, reliability, safety, responsibility and ethical standards. We hold this on record as part of our ongoing Supplier Risk Management Assessment.

01

Safety accreditations & ISO certifications.

Health & safety policy, safe systems of work, statutory compliance. The category that triggers delisting fastest if it slips.

What we askHealth & Safety policy — signed & dated.
EvidenceCurrent policy doc, board-level signatory, review date inside 12 months.

What we askEnvironmental policy & carbon-reduction plan.
EvidenceWritten policy, named owner, reduction targets with baseline year.
CadenceAnnual
What we askAsset emissions data — engine tier, fuel type, age.
EvidenceAsset register with engine specs; Iris® ingests on-onboarding.

03

Labour, ethical & modern slavery.

Anti-bribery, modern slavery, ethical sourcing, apprenticeship investment, local employment. Supplier-ID transparency under the Procurement Act 2023 sits in this category too.

What triggers delisting

Pattern — not a single incident. Repeat enforcement notices, ignored development plan, failure to maintain insurance, evidence of modern-slavery violation. Network breadth is the proposition; we protect it deliberately.

05 · The greener network

Four greener ranges. Specifics, not slogans.

Available across the network where the customer specifies them. Carbon-vs-diesel deltas land here when the supplier-level emissions data has been independently verified — until then we publish the kit, not the comparison.

Electric Plant & Equipment.

Ideal for urban sites and Clean Air Zones.

  • Telehandlers
  • Forklifts
  • Access platforms
Available across the network Per-site availability on request

Solar-powered Welfare & Site Setup.

06 · EcoVadis · honest framing

Bronze. Cited correctly.

Nexus is assessed by EcoVadis — the global standard for responsible-business ratings used by 100,000+ companies. Bronze is the entry tier of the medal scale. The honesty about that is itself a proof point on a page that won't dress its credentials up.

Tier Bronze · entry tier Awarded 2024 · first assessment Percentile Top 35% globally

The EcoVadis Bronze Medal places Nexus in the top 35% of companies assessed globally for responsible business practice.

EcoVadis is independent. The methodology, scoring and percentile rank are theirs, not ours — which is why the result is worth citing in the first place.

Trajectory

Bronze in hand. Silver in our sights at the next assessment.

  1. Bronze Top 35% globally. First assessment 2024 — the published score on this page. Current
  2. Silver Top 15% globally. Our target at next assessment — supplier-side scope-3 reporting is the load-bearing improvement. Next assessment
  3. Gold Top 5% globally. Long-term horizon — the network would need to be majority Stage V / electric / HVO across the network. Long-term
  4. Platinum Top 1% globally. Aspirational. We won't claim a horizon on this until the gap to Gold is closed. Aspirational
