NEXUS DRIVES FLEET EFFICIENCY IN PUBLIC SECTOR FOLLOWING APPOINTMENT TO CCS FRAMEWORK

October 23, 2019 10:15 am

Leeds-based Nexus Vehicle Rental, the UK’s leading tech driven business mobility provider, is extending its public sector offering after being named as a supplier on the Crown Commercial Services (CCS) vehicle hire framework (RM6013).

Nexus will focus on deploying its industry leading technology to offer public sector clients considerable cost-savings on their vehicle rental agreements. Nexus’ award-winning rental booking and management software, IRIS, automatically identifies the most cost-effective solutions for customers, saving them up to 20% a year on their total spend and allows full control and visibility of all rental expenditure.

Currently, Nexus serves more than 1,000 clients across various sectors including retail, logistics, construction and utilities due to its ability to supply vehicles across any asset category, including to remote locations and fragmented workforces. It also provides a time-critical solution for project-based work by delivering vehicles within two hours of a booking being made.

David Brennan, CEO at Nexus Vehicle Rental, said: “While the majority of our business customers belong to a distinct cluster of industries, our unrivalled supply chain and cost-cutting software means any organisation operating vehicles can reap tangible benefits from using our services.

“The investment we’ve made in developing innovative, constantly evolving rental management technology that advises customers on where their rental spend could be reduced is unique and can be particularly effective and attractive to customers in the public sector.”

Nexus was included as one of Crown Commercials Service’s (CCS) 11 vehicle rental suppliers due to the company’s vast network of supply branches and ability to provide vehicles across all three asset categories of cars, vans and HGVs.

The CCS also recognised Nexus’ tech-led approach and ongoing work to protect its customers from unfair damage charges by knocking back more than a third of ill-reported claims each year, cutting overall rental spend.

The company rolled out a new damage reporting system last December that enables customers to upload pre-existing damage through an SMS text link. This followed a successful pilot for a bespoke feature within its IRIS rental booking and management system for client GB RailFreight Ltd.

Crown Commercial Service supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2018/19, CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits worth £945m – supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.
