To fill what we identified as a neglected but important gap in the vehicle rental market, Nexus has recently acquired Uxbridge-based AVH (Adapted Vehicle Hire). AVH specialises in renting adapted cars and wheelchair accessible vehicles to people with disabilities.
Around one in ten UK adults has a disability. In many instances a standard vehicle won't be suitable, so hiring isn't an option.
But it so easily could be. Our aim is to expand the AVH offer and make adapted vehicles available nationwide, on exactly the same basis as non-adapted vehicles. This will enable any driver or passenger with a disability to experience the same high standard of vehicle rental satisfaction as any other driver.

Making the difficult easy
However, our ability to provide non mainstream vehicles on a self drive basis does not end there.
We also have market-leading expertise in supplying hard-to-source specialist commercial vehicles, from HGV and horse boxes to ice-cream vans. What to other rental companies is an unwelcome and time-consuming chore is not only routine to Nexus, but is exactly the sort of challenge we thrive on. (Which is why most other rental companies ask us to sort the problem out for them!)
It may take some time to supply the vehicle you need, but if it is out there we will find it. If what you are wanting is not featured on the huge vehicle list available on the IRIS system, talk to our experts and give us your specification. We may locate a suitable vehicle quickly enough, but it may not always be available at short notice. Sometimes the impossible takes a little longer than two hours, even for us.
